Is there nothing this child can't do?

Ethan is still sick as you can see in those beautiful pictures above, but wait until you hear this!  While we were cleaning everything under the sun in the house to keep germs at bay, Ethan was helping me with the laundry.  His job is to make sure none of it falls out as we travel from the basement to the living room.  Ethan makes a great laundry weight!  He was still sitting in the basket while I was folding clothes and then I saw it.  Ethan pulled himself up into a standing position!!!!  THREE times!  He thought it was pretty fun and I was so astounded I couldn't move.  I was surprised the basket didn't fall over either.  I tried to catch it on video, but he has not done it since.  What a wonderful sick day at home!

Ethan is officially sick

Ethan went to the doctor today and he most likely has pneumonia.  We are still waiting for the doctor to call us back and confirm his diagnosis. The poor kid has a fever, a constant runny nose and eyes, and an unproductive cough.  Ethan is now on antibiotics, a nebulizer (which is a panda-cute) and Tylenol.  Through all of this he is a happy guy.  Ethan wants to play, laugh and smile.  It's just a little pathetic as he looks so sick.  I am just so happy this sickness is not getting him down.  He seems, so far, to be sleeping well.  We'll see if it lasts!

I also think Ethan is a little bummed not to be at school this week.  He missed most of beach week and could not where his cool outfit he received from Grandpa Rick and Auntie Carolyn.  The pink flamingos are at school waiting for him...

My sick little man

Ethan is a trouper these last couple of days.  He has had a fever, been sick, has a runny nose, a stuffed nose and through all of this has remained fairly happy.  He took a 2 hour nap then an hour and a half later took a hour and a half nap.  This from a baby who naps less than 2 hours a day.  Ethan seems to be feeling better as of late, and we hope this tend continues.  It's not fun to be sick!

Ethan is thankful for Grandpa Bob who put up with the constant runny nose all day!! He is also looking forward to having some more Daddy time tomorrow before he goes to work. And who wouldn't be excited to hang out with Grandma Dinky this Saturday while Mom and Dad go play games with some friends.  Life is so very busy for a Little Man!

It's cold and cuddley

That's right, it is negative 29 degrees outside the window.  Gotta love the Minnesota winters!

Even though it is cold outside, these two are warm all cuddled up together.

Wow

Ethan is growing so fast!  His new favorite thing to do is to stand.  Yes, I said stand!  He will hold onto something and stand for upwards of 20 minutes on his own.  He is also learning to fall asleep on his own.  A skill Mommy is very happy about.  Teething is still an issue, but it has not been as bad lately.  There are still no teeth to show for all the fuss they are causing either.

Ethan loves his big kid food.  He is a fan of all fruits and vegetables, even peas; although pears still seam to be his favorite.  As for real food, Ethan does not like the texture.  I have to keep trying real bananas and sweet potatoes.  Tonight he decided to 'choke' on them and spit them out., then ate a whole container of carrots.  It was still kinda cute.

I will try to post more pictures soon!

6 Month Doctor Appointment

Ethan is growing up fast!!  He recently went to the doctor for his six month check up and here are the stats:  His head is 17 inches (50%), his weight is 16 pounds and 13 ounces (45%), and he height is 28 inches (95%).  Ethan now eats lunch and dinner and the doctor wants him to drink 6 ounces of water a day!  He needs fluoride for those incoming teeth and boy, are they coming.  Ethan has been waking up crying on occasion due to his non-visual teeth hurting.  This is a shock to Tim and I as we are used to sleeping through the night.  All 3 of us have survived so far and there are still no teeth to show for it yet...

Today, Ethan reached up to me for his Mommy to pick him up!  This almost brought me to tears!  I was pretty excited!  As I said, he is growing so fast!!!

A New Year with New Accomplishments

On New Years Day 2009, Ethan showed us all he is growing up fast.  Ethan started to crawl.  He was frustrated when he went backwards instead of forwards, but boy were mom and dad surprised!

Here Ethan is playing with his farm animals that Grandma Dinky and Grandpa Boyd gave him.  He is still in his pajamas as New Years Day was pajama day at this Krueger home.

Thanks Great Aunt Nan!!

Ethan loved his new piggy bank!  He played with it and laughed!  Thank you!  We will miss you!  Mom even added a couple of pennies to the change that was already in there.  He is definitely a lucky little guy!
